Air Huarache Light Burst Jordan 11 Inspired Pack

Here’s today’s second Jordan post:

Nike is releasing two limited edition Nike Air Huarache Light Bursts.  These two are in Cool Grey and Black-Red (Breds as commonly known) colorways in patent leather, just like the Air Jordan 11.  They should be available at select Nike accounts.  More pictures here from Mita.

When the Huarache Burst came on to the scene in 2004, with the infamous AD21 model, it was one of Nike’s first attempts at blending two shoes together, and honestly it came out looking clean.

Here’s the AD21, one of the first models of the Huarache Burst, and hard to find now.

The Huarache Burst (and Huarache Light Burst) is a fuse between the Nike Huarache and Nike Air Burst, as shown respectively.  The Huarache gives up its upper, light weight design, while the Burst donates its sole and air bubble.

The Air Huarache is a collection of Nike from the early 1990s that also spanned Basketball and Cross Training variations.  One of the later model Huarache models was worned by Kobe Bryant before his line of Zoom Kobes came out.  If you remember the Huarache Mowabb that was posted here previously, this is the shoe that inspired it.

The Air Burst is part of the Air Max family of running shoes, and shares the 270-degree air bubble first used on the Air Max 93.  The shoe debuted in 1994, but for some reason, was not called the Air Max 94.  This shoe is popular with sneakerheads, but less known than its more successful cousins, the Air Max 1, 90, and 95.  In 2003, Eminem collaborated with Nike in its Artist Series and created the Slim Shady Air Burst that were sold in limited quantities at Niketown nationwide.  I own this one pair from 2004, and love its comfortability and support.  With the newer models, however, the air bubble has been substantially reduced like the other Air Maxes produced as of late.
