Nike Air Max 1 - Moon Landing 40th Anniversary

Here’s the latest Air Max 1 retro for this month…this one was created to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the first landing on the moon, which is definitely historic for mankind.  On July 21, 1969, Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first men to walk on the Moon, in which they planted the American flag in that infamous photo and also, placed a plaque bearing President Nixon’s signature and an inscription reading: “Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon July 1969 AD. We came in peace for all mankind.”

It is good that Nike brings shoes with some significance, and hopefully, people who buy it will know the history, etc. Anyway, about the shoes themselves, I do like the grey sole and the intricate designs used here on the shoe; for me, the black and silver theme isn’t something I’m a big fan of, though I’m sure they’ll sell well in Oakland, California (How about those Raiders?). Since the anniversary is this summer, expect these shoes to be released closer to that historic date.  More photos on the jump!
