If you are an avid electronics consumer, you are well aware of Monster Cable Products, as they are sold at many leading retailers throughout the nation, such as Best Buy and Radio Shack. If you’ve ever bought a TV or audio system at one of those fine establishments, it was likely that the sales associates tried to upsell you on some Monster Cables to go with your purchase. Chances are you probably freaked out when you saw the price tag. So how Monster are the cables? Do they blow away the competition of other HDMI cables that don’t have the “Monster” name or price?? With Chinese New Year almost here (Don’t forget to get your red bags!), Nike releases yet a few more shoes to commemorate the Lunar New Year, as they’ve been doing so far every Chinese New Year for the past several years, but mostly with the Air Force 1.
Nike seems to cater to every culture: From series titled “Tuskegee Airmen” to “Dia De Los Muertos” to “Filipino Heritage”, Nike knows how to connect with every sneakerhead (Mostly from the pocket it seems). Anyway, without further adieu…
First up, the Year of the Ox Pack features two of Nike’s classics, the Blazer Mid and the Air Max 1. Both feature a special heel with 3D rays centered around a golden ox, where the “Nike” swoosh would usually be.

This Air Force 1 was created in collaboration with Hong Kong-based CLOT (owned by ex-actor and “I got stuff on my computer” Edison Chen), and released last week in limited quantities in Hong Kong. The red color signifies the themes of luck, happiness and prosperity.

This would be cool if we here at EO knew about it, since there’s a store right around the corner. TJ Maxx, along with its TJX family of stores (Homegoods, Marshalls and AJ Wright) all had a “Customer Appreciation Day”, which was basically a one day only 15% off sale yesterday for everything in their stores…however, of course, publicity was kept to a bare minimum (SD didn’t even post it on their front page!). TJX put this sale on because someone hacked into their confidential customer database a few years ago, which lead to some unwanted headlines, so this was is part of their “settlement’. If you were able to find some nice clothes with a nice 15% off yesterday, we salute you! We here just hope that your data wasn’t compromised, because identity theft really sucks.
